Part 4 Featured Artist, Shohei Yamamoto, will start to exhibit and sell his works!
Shohei Yamamoto
Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1994, he is an artist who completed his graduate studies at Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2019 in the area of pre-disciplinary painting. He is known for his works created using a technique of repetition of paint over images of famous statues and other works, using a self-made roller.
By daring to use analog repetition with his homemade roller, he visualizes on the canvas the process of depressive repetition, creating a sense of coincidence in his works that cannot be expressed digitally. The paint is mixed with calcite (calcite), which gives the roller-applied repetitive surface a unique unevenness.
The background of the motifs is the context and stories of mythology, and the repetitive material of paint covers the entire surface. Please enjoy the unique pictorial world of Shohei Yamamoto.
