We invited the ikebana artist Ryota Hagiwara and held a flower arrangement workshop.

The other day at Roka, we had the pleasure of welcoming the ikebana artist Ryota Hagiwara for a flower arrangement workshop held for our staff.

It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the spirit of hospitality through the symbolic element of Japanese culture—flowers—and to realign our hearts and minds.

Mr. Hagiwara is a renowned ikebana artist known for his works that respect tradition while incorporating a modern sensibility. During the workshop, he kindly guided us through everything from the fundamentals—such as how to bring out the unique character of each flower and how to make the most of space—to hands-on practice in arranging the flowers.

Each staff member had time to engage deeply with the flowers, allowing them to experience the richness of harmony with nature and the importance of cultivating aesthetic sensibility.

We will strive to apply what we have learned to our interior decor and daily hospitality, so we can offer our guests an even more pleasant and meaningful experience.
