(About Mushiake Oysters)
Oysters of Hinase town are the most famous oysters in the Seto Inland Sea, and Hinase oysters are said to be one-year oysters. Oysters that caught in Mushiake, 15 minutes from Hinase town, are called sannen oysters, and are cultured in clear waters with little plankton, taking 2-3 years to grow.
Oysters feed on plankton that flows in the ocean currents. The growing environment for oysters is different depending on which river the water flows from and through, so oysters can grow in completely different places even if they are only 3 kilometers away from each other. For this reason, we only handle oysters from Mushiake, grown not in Okayama or Hiroshima, but in the nutrient-rich waters of the Chikusa River, which has been selected as one of the best 100 waters in Japan.
